Based on a free beer a was supposed to enjoy the other night:

Live/Dead, Grateful Dead, 1969, re: "Around the manzanita stark and shiny in the breeze"

"Manzanita is an imaginative take on the classic German rauchbier, combining traditional ingredients with inspiration from the Northern California wilderness. An assertive, multi-layered smoke aroma—courtesy of beechwood-smoked malts and charred manzanita branches—gives way to a light-bodied structure and a surprisingly delicate balance of flavors: nutty, herbal, sweet and savory. A beer for a campfire on a crisp fall night."

I choked down half of it because I was thirsty.

I always thought of little apples for manzanita and the vines from Clementine.

The description sounds like it is out of a Pederman catalog on Seinfeld

Brews For Allah.
A lineup of Ales created for those with discerning palates. Delightful complexity abounds, featuring a balance between tradition and innovation that is brilliantly achieved. Still there's just enough subtlety and restraint to suit even the post-hiatus naysayers. The ensemble of rare ingredients collected here play off of and around each other in a singular manner. There is nothing like a Brew For Allah. Have one today.
